OMFG!!!!
Think I'll go puke now. Man what a game, thought that old goat was going to get us again. So many really great ball players on the Cubs teams over the years that deserved a night like tonight. I'm thinking about those guys just as much as this team. These boys and the Indians played some historic October ball, for sure. I'm numb and don't know how to feel. It's so different from what I've been conditioned to feel for these last 50 years. |
In Stuttgart, Germany right now and turned the TV on about 5:40 this morning just as the Cubs wrapped it up. As a native Floridian, I really have no skin in the game for either team except that I am a huge fan of Joe Maddon and think it was a huge loss when he left the Rays... but more power to him. He's one hell of a baseball manager and has secured his place in history... as did Ben Zobrist, another former (and great) Tampa Bay Ray. So, go Cubs!

As a non fan of watching grown men play a game, I am glad the Cubs finally won.
Back to the future missed the date by one year. My mother was born and raised in Oklahoma but for whatever reason she was a cubs fan. She died at age 74 and never saw the cubs win it all. Hopefully they will not have to wait another 108 years. |
Congrats to the Cubs - awesome job. I actually thought the Indians deserved it more up until about the middle of Game 6 yesterday. They're a heck of a team and it's kind of a shame that there can only be one champion.
In this series it can be said that the Cubs "won" but not that the Indians were "losers" by any stretch. They deserve respect even if they don't leave with the trophy this time. Very enjoyable to see some talented players playing at their peak. Great for the game. |
This series was up there with the best (IMHO)
1975 Reds v Red Sox 1988 Dodgers v Athletics 2016 Cubs v Indians 1981 Dodgers v Yankees 2002 Giants v Angels 1978 Yankees v Dodgers We all have our most memorable, and certainly this years is a great one. Fantastic baseball from both clubs. |

What a barn burner! Reminded me of the 1975 Series. |
Curse broken, congrats Cubs.
How a Billy Goat “Cursed” the Chicago Cubs - History in the Headlines http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1478180549.jpg Cub's press conference, if you believe in things like curses, life is going to be tough for you.:D They believed more in themselves than some stupid curse, good for them. |

I'm still kinda shaking here.
And a bit hungover :D |
That was a good prediction, Kluber as you said was hittable. 3 times in a series and the stuff loses some magic.
I thought Joe Madden had screwed the pooch when he over worked chapman. Same story as Kluber as far as hitters getting familiar with seeing the pitcher. What a game, very enjoyable. |
|
As a casual fan, I enjoyed the game and am happy for the Cubs.
|
Congrats to the Cubbies. See ya in 2124 - (I stole that line from someone else)
Cheers JB |

Chicago Cubs fans celebrate Game 7 victory but mourn those who missed out
Really great story on ESPN about the Cubs win, and what it meant to the city. |
