We have Asian beetles this fall in KS, they look like ladybugs. They are attracted to warm areas and have been found in the mouth of dogs. Unlike lady bugs they actually bite, nasty little suckers.

The insects are, in fact, Asian lady beetles which are said to be in high numbers around Kansas, notes the Star-Telegram.
They are not ladybugs, which are harmless, unless you are an aphid

Suckers bite hard if you let them.
They are not the regular ladybug beetle, even though they look the same.

I once lived in a nice place between a lake and woods.
They decided they liked that house.
The bugs somehow wiggled through the window seals. I guess.
Every day I'd be vacuuming up 10-100 crawling all over the southern windows.

It was much worse than cockroaches.

I've had bouts with those "orange ladybugs" 2-3 separate occasions over the years as I'd come home in the afternoon and they'd be concentrated on just one particular southern facing upper palladium window....out comes the vacuum. They'll stink up a vacuum bag after a few days . I determined they were coming/going from the HVAC floor vent after a few bouts....don't like 'em. My parents occasionally have similar incidents with larger "potato bugs" on their southern facing glass storm door.
