I was 8 years old. I can honestly say I don't remember much about it at the time.

I remember it clearly. We were in San Marcos, TX in school and the principal came on the intercom to announce it to the entire school. Of course I was a kid and I was mad that the next day there were no cartoons, just yucky news. The one day of the week we could see cartoons and they had on news. Hey, I had just turned 9 and did not really understand what a President was.

I was 10 yrs old. Remember everyone being real quiet about it when it happened..more a feeling of sadness. Hurried home to watch the news on the b/w tv. It changed everything.

Definitely one of those "where were you?" events. I was driving when I heard the news on the car radio of my old '55 Ford. I pulled to the curb and just sat there staring at the radio....

I'm 57 and I remember. I was walking with my granddad through town and it seemed everyone wanted to talk with him about it. I was "Big deal." about it and it was the first time I'd ever seen my granddad a bit angry with me. I guess that's why I can remember it so vividly.

I was seven. I remember as we were sent home from school early and I watched the tv all afternoon.

I vividly remember the videotape when Ruby shot Oswald. The tall officer in the white suit with the big hat.

Found out recently that my Grandmother was a block away on Main Street. She saw people running around and general pandemonium. She didn't know until hours later that JFK had actually passed.

I remember

Just stepped off our school bus, 3:30 (ATLantic) when we heard the news.

Now the words "grassy knoll" "Dealey Plaza" "book depository" "Zapruder film" or image of that
black umbrella on a sunny day bring back these memories. A very sad day.

I was 9 and in 3rd grade - remember hearing about it in school.

School wasn't cancelled but I do remember how the whole atmosphere changed to one of gloom the remainder of the day.

I was less than a month away from my 10th birthday. We had just relocated from Wisconsin to Santa Ana California, Dad was at El Toro.

All of us were at lunch at Monte Vista School, at the picnic tables between the third/fourth grand classes and the fifth/sixth grade classes (the older students had a separate lunch time), at Monte Vista School.

The doors opened from Miss Hoy's class room and Mr. Houston's and out came a bunch of students. Many of the teachers were weeping, not crying, but truly weeping. It was a big shock, I had never seen such sadness.

My Dad, though a lifelong Conservative, truly admired JFK, he was pretty shook up. The only other time I saw him that way was when our family dog was hit by a car and at my Mother's Death.

8th grade History class, Lincoln Jr High, Santa Monica CA.
Announcement came over the PA system.
A day that certainly changed the world. It (assassination of a President) was always something that you'd read about in books, but never, ever thought you'd experience in your life time.
Truly a sad time in our country's history.

I wonder if it will happen twice in a life time.

I remember it clearly. I was in 8th grade shop class when an announcement came over the intercom. They let school out early. I wasn't very aware of the outside world and had no idea of the gravity of an assassination, but I'll never forget the shock and sadness that overcame everyone around me. My uncle hated Kennedy, and I adored my uncle, but he had died of an aneurysm about two weeks before Kennedy was killed. I was conflicted and confused.

That would be late 40's and 1950's guys (birth date). If not, too young to remember.

I do agree, a mature in age bunch of bros. Comforting to be honest.

20 years from now, most of us are gone.
