Porsche magazine collection

I have a fair bit of magazines over the past 30 years I kept but never read...

Anyhow they consist of,

Excellence 1987 to present
911 & Porsche World 1990 to 2005
Christphorus 1977 to 1987
Panorama 1980 to 1993

I have recently decided to read some of them and I am finding how cool it is to go back and see how the cars were perceived when they were new and in the respective time they came from. I can't tell you how fascinating it is to read these articles as these cars were new and in the 1980s prospective. The advertisement are awesome too.

I don't have the collection that you do but have kept all of my Panorama and Excellence since 2000 when I bought our SC.

Interesting that Ruf had a facility in Elk Grove Village.

Read some for sale ads in the back of an old Pano if you ever need a good cry.

I have the mags that dad collected from the early 50s on... including the Porsche magazine that after a few issues became "Porsche (soon to be Excellence)" and then "Excellence (formerly Porsche)"

Really need to catalog them all and try to sell 'em off at a buck or three per issue...

The classifieds in the back of the Road and Tracks from the 50s thru 70s will make you cry...

I had several years of Road and Track from the late 80s. I've also had some others over the years since. I've had to ditch those at various times over the years due to moves and such. Magazines are heavy and unwieldy and take up a lot of space. I'd love to had my old R&T, and some of my other stuff. I'd built up another collection from the mid-late 90s and some periods since then, but we downsized two years ago, and I've paired down to some R&T, Motorsport, Excellence and Octane. I've really missed having some of the stuff that I threw out before, so I made sure that I kept some. I eventually stopped subscribing because I just don't have room or time for them all. (I suppose I might have time if I spent less here )

I don't suppose anyone has the Jun 2008 Excellence, and would be willing to scan an article for me. I understand that there's an article on the 2008 Boxster RS60 Spyder. I suspect it's short. I've got one. Otherwise, I may end up buying it off of eBay or something.

I've also got some issues of R&T and Motorsport from the 50s and 60s and maybe a couple from the 70s. Those old ones are a really great read.

I would take a Sept 2013 Pano if anyone has an extra - my car is featured in there.

From the same June 1987 Porsche magazine. Very cool Yokohama ad here using the 911 to sell their tires.

I could say the same about the June '95 EXCELLENCE. Only I feel guilty about it, because I feel partly responsible for the wrong people getting into the early 911 for the wrong reason.

Porsche magazine collection

Garretson enterprises had a world class 935 racing team in the late 70s to early 80s.

Porsche magazine collection

Recently scored 4 years 1978,77,75,74 of christophorus for cheap.

Anyone not knowing of the IMMENSE amount of porsche history in these "factory issued katalogs" is missing out. The finest documentation of all things porsche ever printed.
