I try really, REALLY hard not to. Even the songs that don't have new lyrics often kind of suck in commercials.

Do love this one. (kind of like ear bleach).

And Devo is/was iconic, even if I never embraced it at the time. It's certainly a huge piece of 80s history that makes me smile when I hear it now.

I don't see many commercials these days, but I did just see something the other day that bastardized a popular song, but can't remember what it was.

I hate it too, but a friend of mine wrote "Short Shorts" with Bob Guadio and put his kids through college on royalties from Nair commercials.

GM using the Who's Eminence Front makes me wonder if they listened to the lyrics,

Also, Estee Lauder is using "Lady Marmalade" to advertise makeup.

I get pissed off pretty easy sometimes, but I've never lost it over an old song being played in a commercial.

I love when I hear the Ramones Blitzkrieg Bop in modern commercials. Do you think the corp execs know its about getting laid in the backseat of a car?

Jeez...

Fidelity Retirement, using "A Message to you Rudy" from the Specials.

Just for the line "...time to think of your future..."

Apparently no one ever listened to the REST of the song

The local casino using Boston's More than a Feeling is more than annoying.

In the 90's most off the music written for commercials was written by DEVO.
