The Grand Tour - Starts Tomorrow!

Anyone else eagerly anticipating this? I will be replacing Netflix with Amazon Prime, mostly just to see the three Brits playing with cars. Two day Amazon free shipping and streaming movies are just a bonus. Per my thread from a few days ago, I think my next step will be firing UVerse and going with an internet based TV provider like Sling.

I want to see it. Fortunately, I already have Prime, so I should be good to go.

I'd also like to check out a couple of episodes of the new UK Top Gear.

I will watch The Grand Tour for sure, but I'm hoping the show will be more "average car" oriented. Why did so many episodes of the last few years of Top Gear seem to focus solely on supercars made for the 1%?

The other night I watched a 2013 episode of Fifth Gear, and I actually enjoyed it more than the silliness of the last few years of Top Gear.

Top Gear became more about entertainment in the last few years, hence why people like my wife enjoyed it. Fifth Gear was more about education, hence why it was boring.

Ah, it was good! Glad to see those 3 clowns together again. A little setup for the new format aside, it was pretty good! Enjoyed it. And not to spoil it but Jeremy's bet made the news a while back so I imagine we'll revisit this in the next episode. Very good!!

This is one of their guests. She wore a red shirt that said, "Remove before flight". I would have assisted her.

Good news is, it did not suck... With such high expectations, it's a relief.

This being the first show there was a little bit of theater at the beginning (evoking the BBC and their transition to a new job), some overdone humor in the tent here and there, the new stig that's not called stig might get old, and not much new material as far as their interaction... but it's like a comfy pair of shoes.... The boys are back, slightly ruder than before which is fine by me. So now we have this, a new Top Gear (with Chris Harris and minus the annoying shouty Redhead), //Drive on NBC, it's not bad a bad time to be a gear head !

Loved the first ep. Echoing the above, some of the tent humor was rough, but it hit all the notes.

Intro was great and we finally got the showdown between the big 3. Not sure when I will tire of hearing May say "the Ferrari the Ferrari", but it's not right now. Visually, the show was fantastic as well.

I haven't finished watching yet (darn work is in the way), but so far, it feels a lot like the old Top Gear without the Stig.

OK, I finally got to finish the show (damn work!)

Honestly, it was practically like watching one of the old episodes of Top Gear. They even have a Stig-like driver, but not secret, and instead, a chubby NASCAR guy, which seemed a bit weird, but was funny.

I thought it was brilliant and will continue to watch. I hope it stays continues to be good. I believe it will.
