Looking Back, what I would've liked to be able to do

What I really did.

Note these two flat trackers are new and scarce: Indian FTR and a Kawi FT which I think was a winner this year.

Franz

Not so Franz

I remember the first time I skied with no kidding down-hillers, college skiers. Even though we were all on recreational skis I might as well have been strapped to Number 2 lead pencils they were so much faster.

By that standard so was Tiger Woods.

But it just reminds me of the old saw "there's no woman so gorgeous that somewhere some guy isn't sick of her ****"...

Thanks for that bit of encouragement, but I might be a bit past my best before date.

Thanks, I appreciate your tip.

2 more things I like to be able to do

Besides being a world class flattracker, I'd like to be able to juggle (not jiggle, I do that now) and play the BAGPIPES!

And damn it, maybe do all three at once!

Growing my parents believed every child should learn to play an instrument (they were part of the greatest generation).
I wanted to play guitar but it was 70's and everyone was playing guitar (including my two older brothers, so I took up trumpet in 4th grade and continued to the 11th grade. I never really practiced, was a mediocre player, eventually got bored with so let it go by the wayside. (sad because looking back I made a lot of friends and had some great experiences playing in the school band).
Now I am into jazz and wish I had kept it up... could have been a cool cat.

Oh, and wish I had a chance to race in one of these:

Skiing? Think of the poor teenage guys in this area who thought they were great downhill racers back around 1960...skiing Hoodoo bowl up on the Santiam pass.
Only to get passed by a girl named Jean Saubert. First USA woman to win an Olympic medal in downhill...1964. Her dad worked for the Forest Service, based in Sweet Home. She lived in Cascadia.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jean_Saubert

What I'd like to have done? Started investing earlier in life. I did a lot of playing when younger. Cars, motorcycles, SCUBA, hunting & fishing, backpacking, girls, etc. Spent to much on toys...

Don't get me started... there are many, but I may be thinking on another wavelength... well, maybe not, YP... you did use "Walter Mitty" in your OP... these are probably the top two... jet fighter pilot...

...and MLB infielder...

Other than those two, of course I'd love to have been a wace car dwiver.

It would have been nice to take a gap year or similar but mostly, I don't have a lot of regret. Married my best friend, live a reasonable life, three great kids and a goofy dog. I guess winning the lottery or similar financial windfall would change things, but not necessarily for the better.

And in my mind? I can keep up with Franz.

It would be cool to go back to the beginning of my junior year in high school, and get some of the opportunities I sqaundered back. I was far more interested in cars than girls, and didn't give much effort at girls, or sports.

I would love to see how good I could have become at the high jump/long jump in my track endeavors. I had a 38" vertical jump, and could dunk a basketball at 5'9" tall. I did clear 6'0" in competition at the high jump with virtually no form, and 19'3" at the long jump with a slow runup.

I would also put a few of my cars into storage (a 70 gold GTO, a 68 Dodge Dart GTS, a 71 Datsun 240Z).
