Netflix is killing it!! SPECTRAL.

i did way too much yard work and was beat.

sat down on the couch and committed to watching something. i chose SPECTRAL.

whoa!! it blew my mind. great movie. some very familiar faces. it had it all...special forces, crazy monsters/ghost, action galore.

movie and a beer helped me forget that i pushed my shoulders past the limit.

I watched it last night as well. Okay flick. Very impressive production values & star casting.

The wife has a netflix account. i sat down and checked it out a couple weeks ago, thinking I'd watch a movie I hadn't seen before.

What a POS. Reminded me of an old run down video rental store that was going out of business and only had a few movies to choose from.

I scrolled and scrolled, after about 10 minutes I still hadn't seen anything i considered worth watching and gave up on it.

I get it, they have original movies. Not interested.

if that's all they are good for then they are good for nothing IMO.

It's definitely not a POS, but you do have to fart around on it before it sort of finds out what you are looking for.

You were probably looking at its suggestions for your wife, based on what she has already watched.

I really enjoy Netflix since they started the DOWNLOAD thing a few weeks ago. You can download a few episodes of a show or a movie onto your phone or tablet to watch on the plane. When you're done, erase it and grab another one. Great for traveling, etc.

For the first 6 months or so, Netflix recommendations made sense. For the last year, it's been all generic garbage.

Netflix recycles all the 1 & 2-star SyFy Channel crap, so Sci Fi is weak. But documentary selection is great.

Lots of OTT alternatives popping up like Comet TV and Pluto TV.

I think it's really hit-or-miss with the Netflix Specials.

House of Cards: Awesome
Stranger Things: Awesome
ARQ: Meh...
White Rabbit: Is OK.

They should have picked up the original top gear crew for their spin-off. They chose amazon.

A mechanical dog with a searchlight!?! Sounds like quality entertainment to me.

Mrs WD and I have become addicted to Longmire.

Well, think about it. What movie could NOT be improved by incorporating a mechanical 'dog' with a searchlight for a head? Definitely would have improved Titanic and 50 Shades of Grey.

All in Bumfuchs Moldava near Russia in the middle of a civil war. The scientist/hero has made a spectral lighting system that illuminates the bad guy/ghosts. It is too heavy to man carry so they use a heavy lift mechanical dog/pony/donkey to carry it. Semi autonomous in action. Special guns are modified to fry the BG/Gs.....all this otta parts he brought and spare parts at the temporary FOB.....

Hero wins in end, no boobs, doesn't get laid, goes home, THE END........

Hell yeah! Replace Kate Winslet with man's best mechanical friend, and the searchlight head could've come in handy for spotting errant icebergs. Everybody wins!

I totally agree. Like Alfred Hitchcock appearing in every one of his movies, a mechanical dog with a searchlight for a head should be incorporated in every cinematic endeavor.

Hey, I didn't write the crappy movie, I'm just spoiling it for you. It DOES have subtitles so Sammy can move his lips while watching.

It worked for Dr. Who!

Sammy, watch "Above and Beyond". Great documentary that was in limited release in theaters last year.

I have Amazon prime...basically the same as Netflix.
They have many movies that never made it mainstream, but are worth watching.
Lately, they seem to be pushing their original movies more...which overall are garbage..imo. The only good part is that most of the newer original shows are shown in 4K.. I think Netflix does the same.
