Nick, during my time with DirecTV Now / AT&T Now the service has become superb. I get all local channels except CBS which comes in great with an indoor antenna. But the pricing has gotten higher and higher.

Pricing is now so bad that I think I can get the bottom package from my cable company for the same or less money.

I think rfuerst911SC is spot on. The cable companies are doing everything in their power to make streaming less attractive. I am starting to wonder if this whole alternative viewing universe is starting to implode.

My opinion is the next game changer leap forward will be a true ala carte programming regardless of it being cable or streaming . Picture a TV menu on your screen and it has 120 channels as an example . Each channel costs X and you select the channels you want .

Once you have selected what you want you are locked in for a month . The following month if you change nothing your price stays the same . Or if you add or subtract channels your price changes accordingly . This will not isolate anyone from price increases but let's say your bill goes up $10.00 maybe the consumer can drop two channels and offset the increases .

I know there are drawbacks to this type of system for those currently in this business but someone will figure out a way to provide it and make money .

I hope you are right, but there may not be enough $$$/customer to sustain a business model for the provider.

They make the claim but they push the reality. I have their service.

I am pushing the envelope. Once I retired I didn't need my high speed internet any longer. So I dumped my ATT internet and my DirecTV. My phone is my phone, internet, and TV all rolled into one.

I cancelled my account today. I can't help but wonder if they aren't intentionally pushing out the people who signed up early? Either way, Hulu Live thanks AT&T for my business.

They got me! Switched to Hulu... no Hulu is raising their price to 54.99.
