Random Photos I Have Taken

It's dreary winter evening and I'm sorting thousands of photos I've taken. I've come across some that caught my eye for one reason or another and I put them aside to share. My favorite subjects are vehicles, food, and my wife. Some of these are art, so don't start giggling like school boys.

Nice photos!

I get the artistic merit and all that, but Mrs Mentat would slowly poison me to death if I posted something like that on the interwebs.

I must have missed the pre edit posting. Pretty tame collection now. I really like the tractor picture, the hummingbird was nice as well.

Thank you. The photos we took for my wife's blog were up long enough for the regulars here to see them. I didn't intend to leave them up in perpetuity.

Great pictures!

We have a humming bird feeder and I intend to try get some shots.
Would you mind sharing some info on that picture?

What shutter speed? Did you stand still and use a short lens or a long lens from farther off?

I was thinking of setting up a tripod and using a IR remote.

It was a 300mm f2.8 lens and definitely on a tripod. I had a wired remote so I wouldn't shake the camera. I don't recall the shutter speed, but I had the ISO down around 200 so I could blow the photo up without a lot of noise showing.

I need to see if my Photoshop download is being supported by Adobe.

I love the composition of these pics, but a few such as the tractor photo and the habaneros seem to have a tad too much contrast for my tastes. The drag race one does not have enough.

Taking images is a fun hobby, I also enjoy taking pics of my wife, as well as landscapes and still life.
You did a great job on these. I really liked the playfulness you captured in the one where she was hiding behind the wall with her leg showing. I also liked the motion blur you captured where she was spinning and her dress was flaring out. I also understand you taking them down. It is nice to be able to share the artistry, yet it is also a very personal thing when it is your wife. Nice work with the images.

Interesting you should have noticed that. Both of those "too much contrast" photos were taken for eventual offset printing. The printing process tends to muddy images, so you have to adjust in the capture phase.
The drag race photo - I know, I just felt lucky to get the subjects framed nicely.
Thanks for the input.

One more picture of MrsWD from yesterday. First time we've had the camera out in ages. I might have more from this shoot later.
