I was wondering about that.

One of the appeals of the GTR is it is factory 8,000RPM with solid lifters.

The engine is part race car.

What would not get used if building to achieve the same high RPM rather than just horse power.

While I'm a huge fan of the GTR. I really love fast nimble hatchbacks and the smaller brother does it for me:

Trust me, I’ve looked at both the Nissan Pulsar GTiR and the Mazda Familia GTX. I also like the Celica GT-Four. All can be had pretty cheaply.

Not gonna lie, part of me thinks I might have enjoyed the GT-R more than the 911SC. But I hope to have both in a few years.
