They didn't come with THOSE Fuchs. Looks like a disc brake conversion. Nice looking car at first glance.

Wow I love those cars. I looked at restoring one in the past but the prices for convertible bodies are crazy high. If you want a hardtop they are more reasonable. Very nice car!

Looks nice. I hope a bucket or a tricycle don't fall on it!

It certianly has plenty of bling bolted on the engine.
Does look like a risky storage setup.
Nice car.

I did not know they came with Fuchs!

Originally would have been VW wide five; those are either adapters (the cheap way) or late 356/911 hubs (the expensive, correct way)

Ghia prices have not yet climbed as stratospheric ally as other certain German cars, except for lowlight convertibles (1957-1959), which are now becoming unobtanium.

Yes, it is a recent restoration. It is mint. Paint, interior, engine, etc.
I think the engine had some minor performance tuning, as well.
I will post better outdoor photos if I visit him again this summer.

As someone who has owned lots of Ghias, they are still cheap to buy and maintain. Prices on 'verts have gone up but still reasonable if you do some research.

Anything you can think of to improve them has already been tested and done from high horsepower engines, A arm front and rear suspensions, 5 speed trans(901 or 915 if you want). The aftermarket for ACVW's is great.

A few years ago there was a link to some dyno runs of a charcoal grey Ghia with a 911 motor in it.........that was one of the sweetest rides I have ever seen !

Minor performance tuning is surely an understatement That motor looks to be a far cry from the 40HP original...would like more details if possible. What a great looking car! It's not a very common color (Fontana Grey?) and it looks especially good with that darker grey top.

I've owned several Karmann Ghias over the years...this is my current '67:
