Wish I was younger
So I could watch SNL, like I used to. Airs up here at 0030, which is pretty much the middle of the night for me. That and a whole lot of other stuff "I used to do".
Guess I can catch it on CNN tomorrow am. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1487452903.png |
Na, we are older and wiser? and have a PVR so we can watch it and FF through the commercials!
Remember Samurai Tailor? |
Where are you - Greenland?

You aren't missing anything worth watching.

Sammy and Steve nailed it! I've watched countless times over the past few years, and I think I laughed out loud, twice...And thought something was funny only a few times. Its not like it used to be, and literally, not worth watching... |

+10,000 to you can get a DVR and watch it whenever you want, except for sports I almost never watch live TV (I do catch Conan at 9PM our time).
I don't DVR SNL... another part of getting old is remembering the 'good old days' SNL will never be the Chevy, John, Dan, Jane, and Gilda funny. My brother is a huge Moody Blues fan... someone mentioned to him they are going to play the Hollywood bowl... he just said "watching old rock stars makes me sad", I couldn't agree more. |
The only SNL's worth watching were the ones that aired over 2 decades ago....

Haha. Some of the old geezers don't even wish they were younger! I thought the Spicer/McCarthy was very funny. You can find most everything on SNL youtube channel now. I know it isnt' the same as watching live. G |
You guys are in the minority. SNL has posted its best ratings in over 20 years. Few can argue the popularity of Baldwin's Trump except of course Trump himself. Melissa McCarthy's Sean Spicer is pretty damn funny too.
I will agree that many skits are lame and sometimes entire shows go by that don't make me laugh. I think that has to do with my age more than anything. The golden years for me were the mid 90's. Meyers, Carvey, Miller and their cast mates. Also your political stripe matters. Nobody likes to see their guy skewered week after week. |

Yeah, this^^^^^^^^^^^^^ |
Ratings are relative... modern musicians sell millions of CD's (or MP3 uploads)...
Are modern musicians as good as Pink Floyd or Van Halen? Dunno, I suppose that is all suggestive. But hey... whatever floats your boat :D |
Well, I'm not on a nostalgia kick where I want to watch the old popular skits, I want to see McCarthy and Baldwin do what they do now. It's funny stuff, cruel but funny and spot on. We love it up here in Greenland.

You can watch it on nbc.com anytime Sunday onward. I don't have a TV so it's the only way I can watch it.
It has become a very funny show again. The political parodies are hilarious. The two news guys are great. I miss the days of Jane Curtin though. |

Yeah, back and forth. But mostly PEI, you're right.

Very interesting...Looking at a map, I see about a dozen city names on the southern edge. Near any of those? Any pics?
