Painting Question

I want to spray paint a surface, but not inside holes in the surface. Some of the holes are threaded. Some are odd shapes. I thought about tape, but that would leave some of the surface I want to paint, unpainted. Any suggestions?

Stuff some tissue paper into the holes.

Rubber stoppers for all the round holes, just like at the powder coat store. Odd shaped holes . . . ?

Just insert a bolt or screw in the hole. Ive also used tapered rubber plugs.

Apparently I miscounted. Or am being passive-aggressive. No, I miscounted....but I do hate one of the answers........

For bigger holes (3/4" or so) wine bottle corks work well. Used 'em for lug nut holes when finishing wheels.
