Not a big fan of the cars where the driver's leg extend over the front axles.
Captain - yes that helps - always look forward to your posts. (you should write a book) Thanks Bill K

Thanks Bill, don't think I've got a book in me, might have a chapter or two but not sure it would make an interesting read
Was sent this today, thought you'd like to see it. ![]() 3 prong forks at the top are sensors (temp. and pressure) they set the baseline pressure/temp values and all the other sensors which are located at every at each intersection point of the two lower lattice structure measure the same thing in each location. Big tear drop shroud houses all the sensors and data recording. Looks like Ferrari are measuring the diffuser exit air, tyre wake inboard and outboard of the tyre. Big unshrouded tyres create huge drag, anything to help manage the flow around them adds performance. just lifting off the gas in an F1 car causes more braking g force at speed than if you stood on your road car brakes as hard as you could.

Alonso is becoming quite the comedian ;-)
“There is no reliability and there is no power. We are 30km/h down on the straight, every straight. “So when you are 30km/h down on every straight it is difficult to have a feeling on the car. Everything feels good, but when you arrive to normal speed you don’t know what is going to happen.” Alonso elaborated that the team had some real amateur-hour problems with unsecured bodywork and a busted oil pan, putting the team behind the rest of the field. That’s not great, and Motorsport quoted further: When asked whether he was able to take Barcelona’s Turn 3 flat out, Alonso also made a joke about the lack of performance. “Oh yeah, for us, not only Turn 3,” he smiled. “For us nearly all the corners are flat.” |
