Modern windshield replacement

Question:

I have a new vehicle that just had the windshield replaced under warranty due to a visual flaw in the laminate safety glass. The vehicle is metallic silver in color.

When the "tech" at the dealer replaced the windshield he proceeded to go way overboard with the black liquid urethane primer that gets painted down on the lip seam before the urethane adhesive is applied. When I stand at the front of the vehicle, you can see the black primer- looks terrible.

My question is if and how this stuff can be removed. I think this stuff is pretty nasty and probably has eaten into the clearcoat by now. What I am showing in the images below is the black primer up in the top corners of the windshield, not actual sealant.

Thoughts?

What kind of auto?
If it ain't anything fancy(brand of auto) I wouldn't worry about it.

On the bright side, Least you received a genuine oem windshield.

Geez, that's rough. I got much the same job done on my old Corolla and the guy did a beautiful job. It can't be that hard to get it right.

That stuff once cured sets up pretty tough. I would try a good exacto knife with plenty of extra blades, spray the area with soapy water( to provide lubrication for the blade as you draw through). Start with small section first going even with the edge of the glass. Hopefully once separated the excess will peel away from the paint with-out lifting everything else with it.

Good luck.
