Motorcycle Front Tire Sizing - Advice, Please
This Ducati MH900E that is coming my way has a 120/65zr17 front...I'll be pulling the original tires to mount a new set. The 120/65's appear to be rare...can't find what I want.
Should I go for a 120/60 or a 120/70? 60 may be too quick ...the 70 a bit slower. I can put up with a slower turn in ...not sure I want a quicker turn in. I'm an old fart, after all. Maybe it's all just technical woo woo...and I'll not notice...dunno. What's say you gurus? . ![]()

I'd say, you won't notice. Considering you never will have ridden the bike with stock tire sizes, you'll have no basis for comparison.
And somehow I'm guessing you won't be riding this bike at 9/10ths anyway. But glad to hear you'll be riding it!

Looks like some good clearance...I'll check, though.

Buy the 120/70. You'll never notice the difference and that is the most common size used on the front for modern sport bikes so all of the best tires will be available in that size forever.

120/70 as long as it clears the fender and oil cooler. I did the same thing on my 2002 Monster for better protection from potholes.

Definitely go for the 70. Its such a slight increase - I'm not sure you would notice. Also, depending on the manufacturer, there are minor sizing differences even though the spec is the same.
Depending on your riding style and conditions, you should consider 'soft' or sticky compounds. Throw wear and treadlife concerns to the back of the bus...........its a motorcycle........you only have 2 small contact patches between you and disaster. My experience / opinion.
