University of Alabama.

I posted before that they invited us to a local meet n greet in Dallas.

My daughter is on track for a full ride there.

It's Spring Break so Tuesday morning we got up at 6 hopped in the car and hauled ass for 9 hours to Tuscaloosa for a tour.

We were impressed by what they told us at the local meeting but even more impressed seeing it in person.

Just got back a couple of hours ago.

Holy crap, nice school.

The only negative so far is the distance.

Once my daughter saw the house for her mothers sorority chapter (makes her a legacy) she was sold.

Roll Tide.

The distance is a negative for you, maybe a plus for her?

Congrats, looks nice.

She still likes us.

I know, odd for a teen but she does.

I know several friends with kids going to Bama these days. Apparently they are making a push for getting better scoring students on campus with fairly generous scholarship grants. It looks like a nice school. Still....it is no Clemson. ROLL TIGERS! ; )

Congrats in advance, hopefully!

Very interesting. My son got a similar local invite from Bama, good to know. Congrats.

BTW, this is the REAL SEC, unlike that wanna be Texas AM nonsense.

My google search results show UofA is only #17 out of the top 25 party schools in the nation.

I'd think your daughter could do better than that!

My old boss' dad insisted that all 4 children leave the state to go to college .

I believe the same man also said having his 4 children 4 years apart so he wouldn't have to pay 2 kid's tuition at the same time was the stupidest thing he ever did and wishes he had them one after the other and then took out a loan so that while he was paying for his kid's tuition for 16 years, he didn't have them at home for that extra 12 years.

The key in my mind is how to make a very large school smaller...so if your daughter is interested in going your wife's sorority route (my daughter did and loved it) then it helps tremendously.

Congratulations, btw...nice job to you and Mrs. SM.

I agree. A&M has far better academics. Fish out of water in the SEC.

But a full ride is a full ride. That's a huge achievement.

One thing that really made an impression.

We show up for the tour, the woman behind the desk says, "you're the Texans, Arden, right? I remember you from the Dallas event"

We never spoke to this woman at the Dallas event.

They've already micro-chipped you. If you want to find out for sure, you'll need to visit Tuscaloosa Novelty and Tattoo, ask for Buzz. Secret password is "Roll Tide". He'll scan you and tell you where he can't put a tattoo.

HAIL STATE!
