It is just not fair. In all the years I was in school I never ever once has a teacher that was attractive, much less hot. My teachers all were old mean ladies, men or 250 pound women. Of course I was not distracted by the teacher's looks for sure. I can't imagine being 15 or 16 and having a hottie like that to look at. Mr happy raised his head for no reason whatsoever enough back then. It would be um, hard to learn with her as the teacher.

She taught high school anatomy...and apparently threw herself into her work, providing students hands-on experience. I'm thinking her 17 year old victim was not really all that traumatized. I suspect that she had little trouble getting folks to sign up for her class.

Nope. Adults who are so ****ed up they can't deal with other adults and have to go after kids don't do much for me.

Whenever stories like this appear, one only has to replace the accused with a male teacher and the proper perspective rushes to the forefront.

Hell, IDK. At 17 I'd long since lost my virginity. Historically speaking a 17 year old male was not really considered a kid any longer. Especially true when life expectancy not much above 50. True, today's culture and reality are different and late teens are far less mature then during historical periods. Problem for this kid is likely any attachment issues that persist.

Here's something to consider. The age of consent in Texas is 17, yet the victim is still a legal minor. Let's move the scenario to college. If this was a 17 y.o. college freshman that she had a relationship with, would this be a crime, or is it a crime because he is still in high school where it is illegal to drop out until you are 18?

The age is only a small part of it. Mainly it is a teacher (the authority) having sex with a student (the subordinate) that is flat wrong and illegal. No different than the boss screwing an employee or an officer having sex with someone under their command or subordinate.

Lets all be real, every guy on this board was once 17 and full of hormones. The opportunity to nail that hottie would have been tough to turn down. And the double standard in the law can't exist but if this was reversed and a stud muffin man screwed some 17 years old girl it does "feel" different.
