RIP Wheeler Dealers
Such a great show while it lasted but unfortunately Edd China is walking away due to irreconcilable differences with Velocity. The show will live on but it will not be the same without the chemistry between Mike and Edd.
For those who have never seen Wheeler Dealers, it's basically the civilized English version of Gas Monkey Garage and was one of the best shows on T.V. for gear heads. Edit: looks like show is continuing with Mike and somebody else. What is the expression? If it ain't broke... Last edited by wildthing; 03-21-2017 at 02:44 PM.. |

Apparently the show will live on with Ant Anstead stepping in for Edd. Have never heard of this guy but he has big shoes to fill.

What a bummer. I love that show. Without Edd being the central focus of the show it will suck.

Hopefully the show will carry a new complaint which is similar to before, "Less Mike, More Ant".

The best part of the show is when they total the numbers at the end of the show. Like when they did the reframe on the Morgan. Ed and his assistant worked on it for 130 hrs but none of that was factored into the price of the rebuild.

They made a profit on the cars, provided that Edd (and his mechanics) worked for free.
The early shows often had me shaking my head wondering if they were hopped up on goofballs. Green Cadillac's, a VW bus with crap carpet and blue raindrop wrap, bondo and rattle can. they did some silly stuff to cars imaginable and still had someone lined up to buy them. The repairs and technology got a lot better as the show went on. |

Edd was Wheeler Dealers. Mike could have left years ago and I would have been thrilled.
The show seemed to becoming more and more scripted (more than it already was). For that reason I was starting to lose interest in the latest episodes. Edd states in the video that Velocity wanted to reduce Edd's "fixing" content - That's the only reason I watch. Most episodes (I record them) I fast forward through the first 15 minutes, skip all the nonsense with Mike and go straight to watching Edd work on the car.

Time for some input to Velocity Ch. to let them know if they take onto the pathof so many other car shows, they will lose viewers.
A shame to mess with success. Ed was the real star of the show for me. Cheers Richard |

Edd China was the reason I watched the show, Mike was tolerable with all of his useless prattling, while waiting to see the genious Edd do his magic.

Once again American cost-cutters have ruined something good and of high quality.

Best news I heard today. Mechanic was a decent dude, but the other annoying douche ruined the show.
