Yes, the Foster Grants and other name brand will be better made and last longer, but the lenses always end up scratched. The secret to the cheap one, find ones that fit your nose.

The Pyramex bi-focal safety glasses are my favorites for car / shop work. Comfortable, scratch resistant and inexpensive. They come in some tinted lenses too.
