Finally
These have languished in the $1200 to $1500 range forever. Now they have broken out and have sought their rightful level.

Prices are running hot nearly across the board...a few things at fair prices but NO bargains. the rest are sizzling..
Remember to the hammer prices you have to add at least 15% Buyers premium wt cash. Then perhaps Shipping, sales tax if not a dealer (wt resale #), and any registration fees if not a dealer. Figure it out... In my state if you receive it through a dealer it is sales taxed.

So why are these bringing higher prices now? Improving economy? They surely aren't being bought to be used.

These could be ordered new for around $200. Collecting is a weird world full of egomaniacs. (edit) The "Balabushka" cue used in the movie "Color of Money" wasn't a Balabushka. It was a cue made for the movie by Joss. This one is the real deal, but since the owner wasn't among the pool greats, the asking price is a bit steep. A "Bushka" used by Mosconi went for close to that...

You mean a long, long, long time ago don't you? About the time before the second to last millennium?

The last couple of hundred Lots at Amoskeag went for what I would call normal, the rest had sizzle.
It was an auction that had good stuff and a premium was paid. I have long said that people would rather have hard assets than the cash and that is what has been driving prices for years But what made this auctions sizzle? Why all of a sudden? Maybe it is partly due to the run up in Equities? Maybe it is the sorry state of the economy and world in general?
