Road trip to Ramona CA

I rode my bike there a few years ago to see a show at The Mainstage. I rode through a dust storm and then there was rain above the dust, so it rained mud on me. At a Border Patrol checkpoint near Brawley I needed to turn toward Julian, but all the white letters had fallen off the green road sign. I probably rode 30 miles before I realized the Salton Sea should not be on my right. By the time I got back on course, it was getting dark and I had 77 miles to go til Julian. Man, that trip just beyond sucked. I so wanted to ride around Julian, but it was no fun in the dark when cold and wet.

I'm 25 minutes from Julian, so whatever additional time from there to Ramona (15/20 min. ?) is how long it takes me. Wife likes to browse the antique places once in a while.
