Says Antique Vehicle and it's good for 3 years. No inspection required. Was told at DMV there were no restrictions on daily driving but it seems maybe the Civil Servant was wrong, shocked. Still, I'm always headed to a parade or car show, of one.

				WA Restored plate requirements

When my car turned 30 I found an '87 WA plate so now I'm done with taxes. "Restored plate requirements The plate must have been restored to it’s original design. It can’t be a reproduction. The plate must match the year of the vehicle. For example: If you have a 1967 Mustang, it must have a 1967 restored WA license plate. Before you can use restored plates bring them into a vehicle licensing office so we can make sure they’ve been correctly restored and are the correct plates for the year of your vehicle. The restored license plates Must be displayed on the rear of the vehicle. If you have a set of plates, you may put them on the front and back. You don’t need to display month/year tabs on the plates. Are good for the life of vehicle (Don’t need to be renewed yearly").

The prix of ILL. Not worth having the tags. With them, only permitted to use vehicle for special events, parade, car shows, to and from a repair shop. Definitely not for commuting and even severe enough might get a ticket for the occasional Sunday drive to church. 25 yr+ Must have displayed front and rear. Know many who've been ticketed, yet they allow the illegals off, without insurance freely drive in sanctuary city Chicago.

				Historic vs Standard plates

PA antique is no inspection, no yearly renewal fee and some toothless use language. I've got antique on my 1980 and Classic plates on my 2001 Boxster. Classic is same deal except safety inspection is required but no emissions. http://www.dot.state.pa.us/public/dvspubsforms/BMV/BMV%20Fact%20Sheets/fs-ant.pdf Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Been driving with Historic/Antique Plates for over 20 years, never an issue. Have them on 3 of my cars. I drive them sparingly and for the time your car will be on the road I would get them. Funny story, I did get stopped once for NO front plate cause in VT they only give you one. The Cop and I had a good laugh about it when he returned to the car realizing he was unaware of this. Of course I had to show him the car and I was actually going to a car event.

Not to PARF this up, but for all of the problems California has, with taxes, regulations, hippies, etc - it is probably one of the friendliest states in the Union w/r/t classic cars: no smog for pre-75 cars, you can run year-of-manufacture plates, no safety inspection BS (probably a good thing and a bad thing) and the process for getting your barn find back on the road is one of the easiest in the country.

We used to have a 30 rolling exemption that dickwad Ahnold signed a law getting rid of it. Sponsored by that twit that played his wanna be GF on the show. She looked like she played for the other team and does in real life...a friend of Rosie if get my drift.... Smogging cars with one off smog devices that are NLA can be next to impossible. Since the CA rules require oem equipment. BTW Ahnold owned the first street legal Hummer. Not legal in CA so he ran Oregon plate. Hypocritical DW.....my SC would be exempt by now....
