Building a house in the mountains





This is a panorama of the lot. I'm going to try to upload some elevations and floorplans. Nothing is finalized. I'd love your thoughts.

you really need to fireproof that sucka - esp. the roof; check out the new research in flame spread during forest fires

also, incorporate the rocks into the landscaping

and, yeh, swap the parts labelled "house" and "garage" in the drawing...

might I suggest incorporating some of the natural elements around the property? Stone, wood, etc..

It's going to be pretty rustic. Timbers, rough sawn siding with board and batt. Local stone. Minimal landscaping

Moses, are you building in Martis Camp? Looks like North Star in the background. I worked on a home in Martis about 4 yrs ago. Been working in Homewood on the west shore.
