Sold my SC backdate "Vipergrün", because driving it and going to the track was "too solitary" and did not involve the family. Sold it and bought a pocket yacht I kept in the local marina. Kids quickly grew tired of that. Sold the boat. I'm back in the market for a Porsche :--)

Dunno, some of the New Years Day SoCal runs we used to do were a bit crazy....

Just purchased my car (twenty years ago) and a buddy wanted to see how fast we could go. Passed the state trooper shifting from third at redline...we both looked at each other as the trooper was smoking the tires trying to turn around quickly. I continued to hammer down and ran her to redline through 4th and then 5th. Ran flat out for about 3 miles or so and then turned onto another road running back up to top speed. Lost sight of the trooper at the turn and never saw him again...until, the next day when he spun around and followed me for a good ten miles. Never lit me up but I knew he knew it was me that he chased the previous afternoon.
Oh, yeah, the really stupid part was I realized a few weeks later as I was getting new tires that I did this all on ten year old tires. God looks after fools I guess.

Regrettable? I backdated my SC.
It's cute and all, but it never felt like an earlier car and I regret doing it.

Regear the tranny.

I've done plenty of weird illegal things, but I can't think of any I regret.

I boinked a girl in the 356 Cab who ended up stalking me for years afterwards. I was starting my senior year in HS and I was happy to be moving out of town. That was not the craziest thing that I've ever done in a Porsche, but the only one that I think I'll write about.

Yes, I redlined it in 5th gear, just once though. It seemed solid and felt safe. I thought about it afterward and that a collision with deer could've been catastrophic, and never again.

Found a tree in a field. I guess the good thing is I went off forwards and not tail first like a proper 911 wreck.

Let my teenage daughters drive my SC.....

Stupid, you bet.
Last year I really detailed it out for the only time I've shown the car in a PCA show.
The very next time I washed the car. Taking it for a quick dry off drive. I had neglected to secure the front trunk lid and it blew up at about 35 mph.
Did a lot of damage to the cowl and corners of the hood.

Still haven't gotten it fixed, as it really needs the fenders taken off to deal with some rust between fenders and the tub.
And I'm not well situated to dig that deep into the car right now.

Ugg it kills me when I do that sort of thing to myself.

Cheers Richard

I may have done something similar once. I didn't have to drive nearly as far, maybe 1 mile, before I was able to pull off and have lunch in a parking lot. I was getting ready to sell the car, and was taking a buddy for a ride. I never drove to lunch again.

Have done that before....once. Fortunately I "found out" at only about 15 mph, so no damage done, other than to my ego.
