What happens when you ask Honda for an OEM part? There are lots of dealerships that sell online for about 30% off list (and often no tax, though you may have to pay for shipping) if you're willing to wait a few days.

O.k, so I do a metric butload of these this time of year. I have a few autocrosser/track/hillclimb customers who run older civic/crx cars, and wheel bearings are the weak link once they start running wide sticky tires .
We have been down the same road. Parts store bearings have a short life , even the supposed good moog parts . We have been buying oem online, but I am pretty sure that that Koyo are oem, and we had sourced a few of them at the end of the season last year for a lot less than oem. We will see how well they hold up this year. Season just started last week
I will have to double check, and see where we purchased them

I have way too many stories on bad Chinese car parts. I'd rather get rebuilt American parts then new Chinese.

Doing **** twice is just annoying. Three times is even worse.
Did the power steering pump on the hmmwv.
Tried A rebuild kit. No bueno. New one from humvee supplier was doa. New one from the local caddy dealer finally did the trick...

Think on the bright side. You're really efficient on replacing wheel bearing on a Honda accord

This is becoming more, and more frequent in my line of work. The % of faulty parts that I receive has gone way up over past years . I am almost to the point where anything that is difficult to r&r, or critical will get oem from now on. I find myself having to warranty parts all the time for customer work, and it just sucks.
I have gotten so many bad alternators in the last year, that I am ready to spit nails
Last one, overcharged, took out the headlights, pcm, fuse panel, and one door window motor . Sure, they send me another alternator, but I am left holding the bag for everything else, and a pissed customer . It is getting silly .
We should just boycott, and not buy anything but party balloons, and hello kitty decals from china.

I am in the camp of OEM only for bearings and brakes regarding Honda's and Acura's. In the past I purchased a lot of OEM parts online from Delray Acura and Honda. Good prices for OEM and shipping too.

Local NAPA is good for some parts but OEM is better regarding other things.

My appliance car is a 2004 Accord and it doesn't need much (that's the nature of appliance cars) but the OEM parts I have needed I've gotten from hondapartsonline.com . Honda parts, non-dealer pricing. I've been doing the same thing for 20+ years for parts for my SE-R (different source, obviously) and it's the way to go.

Just look at the country of manufacture on the box when you get it. If it's from someplace you like, like Japan, carry on... If not, head down to your local bearing house and look for them there. I always make sure the bearings I buy are from a country that still knows how to make bearings.

You guys are way too harsh on China.

They just now started to make ballpoint pens. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/worldviews/wp/2017/01/18/finally-china-manufactures-a-ballpoint-pen-all-by-itself/?utm_term=.46ba3d000c18

In another oh, 20 years maybe, they'll be making quality bearings. OK, 30.

My Jetta eats rear wheel bearings. I was buying $25 online junk and decided it was time to buy a real OEM bearing.

It looked a lot better. And it lasted two winters, just like the Chinese crap.

Maybe there is no solution aside from replacing them regularly.

Koyo - Made in Japan. Also, Toyota's OEM on the stuff still made in Japan.

Lots of really good bearing houses in this country.
Applied industrial technologies is prolly the biggest, I spend close to a mil there each year.
https://www.applied.com/

Kaman industrial is usually the second call.
https://ec.kamandirect.com/us/index.jsp

If you have a part number they can get you pretty much anything you want and will ship or deliver.

Honda part from Majestic Honda?

Never had trouble with Honda labeled parts. My '99 accord has 285k, on the second set of bearings.

I get my old Toyota parts from a mob in UAE called partsouq.com . Most orders are in my hand via fedex within 3 days. Never had to wait more than a week. Most Toyota parts from them are about 1/3 the price of the local dealership (incl freight). I'm happy.

Honda is also on their inventory. Their web site is not the most friendly but all i did was type in my VIN and it gave me an illustrated parts breakdown to search.
