BAT E34 M5--jeepers!

At least a couple of people reset the price bar for these!

Hell, I only got $6700 for mine.

The ultra low mile M cars are really starting to take off. There was recently a 95 M3 Lightweight with 100 miles on the odo that bid to $150K

With 14k miles, I don't think the winning bid is unreasonable.

Well it is nicer looking and much better built than a new M5. And it even has a spare tire....

I watched the auction extend WELL past the final time as bidders get another minute each time a last second bid is placed. I placed the OP at $48K and the auction just kept on going and going and going. Remarkable. Makes me feel like I should consider letting go of mine but n=1 isn't a study.

There are a lot of wishful E36 M3 owners hoping that their cars will become collectible. My attitude has always been "don't hold your breath". At the same time I've always said "as long as the hand built M cars are still cheap, E36's aren't going anywhere". It looks like the hand built cars are starting to appreciate nicely. I still don't think the market will pick up on the E36's.

BaT tends to bring really good money for the Italian and German stuff. Looks like a nice car, that might prove to be well bought given a few years.

I bought a '91 last year for $10k. Maybe I should hang onto it for a while...

I have to wonder what this one would be worth.

3.8 liter Jahar 20 Edition with with 4099km on it.

when I started looking at them about 8 or 9 yrs ago you could get a nice e28 M5 for mid teens.
I wanted one and I new they were off the radar and would eventually go up.

awesome engines

That Touring is incredible! The E34 is the generation last BMW I would buy.
