New Owner - Ducati MH900E

Just bought yesterday from original owner...9 miles. On consignment at a Nevada Audi Dealership.
I searched and searched and found this one for sale on an obscure web site that the dealership used.
Owner had it in his living room under blankets...one of 600 sold into the US.
#0302 of 2,000.
All the Ducati goodies - manual, plaque, both keys (one is still wrapped in plastic), certificate, rear stand, etc.
Recent service at Ducati dealership...new oil and cam belts.

$5k credit card down...$20,000 total...they'll ship.
Most of the ones for sale had from hundreds to thousands of miles on them...from $19,000 - $24,000.
Headed my way this coming week.

You're a maniac! That's awesome. What are your plans? Ride or furniture? What, no shipping crate?

I wish my back would allow me to be envious.

Congrats, it looks great.
My brother had an 860GT a long time ago with Conti pipes on it. That was fun to ride. I think yours will be more funner than that was.

Check this out...two years ago...asking $38k, sold for $34,500.
Lots of goodies.
Must have been a peak in perceived value at that time.

I worry about that committed position...that loonnggg reach.
Pierre Terblanche is 6' 4"...must have designed it for himself.
I'll add risers if it's a PITA. I'm 5' 10".

Have about half a chubby looking at that thing. Need a NSFW warning.

Need tires, you know, because it is going to have way more than 9 miles on it when someone inherits it from you.

LOL...a sexy Italian will do that.
.

I'm conflicted. Ride and enjoy it or let it sit.
I'll ride it to see how we get along...of OK, I'll just ride the damn thing and let the devil take the hindmost.
Yes, new tires right off...already looking/searching today.

No crate. Seems to be that some kept the front crate panel with the info stamped on it...including the number. Not a biggie for me.
Kept mine from my 851...gave it to the new owner.

To me the value is not in how pretty it looks sitting still, more what it does to your heart rate when you are leaning over hard and pulling some g forces, letting her sing to you.

BOOOOOOOOM!

Nice score, Don! One of the most beautiful Ducatis, for sure. Whatever you end up doing with it, enjoy it to the fullest!

Thanks guys.
Just spoke with the local dealer who serviced the MH...oil & belts...asking if they'd be willing to haul it here...I'll pay them cash upon arrival.
Looks promising because they do have an enclosed truck.
They're going to get back to me this afternoon...consulting the shop owner now.
I'd rather do that than fetching a shipper.
Once I get the transport established, I'll pay off the Audi dealership via transfer of funds.
.
Am all becited.
.
Oh, will be putting new tires on her...what's a good sticky tire? I don't care about tire mileage.
