Pretty much. It is such a simple design/problem that I really cannot understand why so much effort is spent making it complex. Obviously, someone is profiting nicely (politically and/or financially) on making this an issue.

I believe that there are some (few) folks with bio/physio-chemical issues that cause them some confusion. I believe that many/most of the confused folks are that way due to external causes / environment and/or abuse of some sort. I believe that the new fad in this stuff is a load of hooey.

Everyone wants to be accepted and fit in and at the same time be different and unique and be special - so goes the plight of the human condition. When we are confused, frustrated, and anxious we reach for a solution that's easy like a pill or and explanation of behavior that is an internally rationalization. Reality...too bad we really never get the full picture.

With all the different weird diseases and illnesses one can be born with, I think being born feeling as though you are the wrong gender can be legitimate. Some cases may be due to external factors. It is a disorder. But it shouldn't be scoffed at as some sort of immaturity that should be slapped out. Either way, the way this issue is being handled is completely wrong. | ||

Transgender issues can be controlled by abortion.

My son just started first grade. One of his friends in kindergarten (and even before that, really) is a boy who is "transitioning" to a girl. We know the family well (they've been to our house for birthday parties and vice versa - the kids play together a lot) and I can guarantee you this is not a "choice" by anyone involved. I have found that it is easy to write this off as a "disorder" (it's not), or a "choice" (it's not) but unless you are faced with the reality of someone in this situation, you don't really understand the realities involved. I know I didn't. Needless to say, here in East Tennessee this isn't going over very well in the school and elsewhere. For me, I fully support the parents and the actions the boy to be who he wants to be. If he wants to identify as a girl, that's fine with me. He/she is still a great kid. What is the alternative? To say no? 45% of kids in this situation attempt suicide. 45%!!!

so he wants to be a girl? wear girls clothes, play with girl toys? seems like these issues go away if either 1) the kid was in the jungle fighting for survival on a daily basis with his family or 2) the clothes and toys in society were completely unisex and face paint was accepted by all

I'm sorry, but anyone who encourages or facilitates this serious of a decision in a kindergarten aged kid belongs in prison. This has to be one of the very worst, most insidious forms of child abuse extant today. No way in hell is any kindergartner life aware enough to be anything but, at best, confused. Any parents who, at that tender young age, will not provide firm guidance that "yes son, you are a boy" are dangerous psychotics and their children should be removed from their custody. If someone wants to make that decision later in life, fine. At this age, however, they are not qualified. Any parents that continue to allow them to entertain these notions are not qualified to be parents. Anyone who supports them in their actions has hopelessly succumbed to societal and peer pressures to be "politically correct" regarding this matter, and is clearly devoid of any measure of critical thinking skills. This kid is not a god damn lab experiment. I honestly hope that someone with some common sense, and the true well being of this child at heart intervenes. This nonsense has simply gone too far and has to stop.

The GENE POOL is messed up!! "Only Stupid People are Breading" Couples should have their DNA checked before they reproduce and save society a lot of headaches? Look between your legs and that's what you are!! Sorry! if I offend anyone? Maybe it the Drugs and Social exposure the Parents do to screw up their children's minds?

I agree with Jeff, my nephew, has two sisters, and when he was a young kid liked to play with dolls and dress up in his sisters' clothes. Grew up to be quite normal.

A lot of ignorance from the above. What IROC is describing is something you have not experienced. Easy from your perspective.

The cutters (surgeons) are going to be upset with this report. The 45 percent verses 5 percent suicide rate is astounding. I'm sure there is room for study in this area.
