Wow, nice 356 Thom

That is the second nicest car I have seen you rolling in, the K Ghia was stunning, but that 356 looked like a cherry OG ride down to the old school license plates. Pretty sweet for a commuter. What is the story man?

Well, it's a good 10-footer at least...

You walked right past it while walking your dog a couple of Sundays prior

So, happy ? As far as pricing/needs vs. the cars you already have ?

I ask because I used to have a 356C, then a 356A (57 like yours), and since I sold them about 10 y ago, I've had a little hole in my heart/garage for one, but I just cannot bring myself to write "that" check at today's prices based on what I remember of these cars... Up to $40-45 I'm OK with it, but 60-80? ouch... Maybe I'll trade my 72 911 for one, one of these days, both models have gone up like crazy so it's not real money if you trade.

A belated congrats on your acquisition, Thom!

That 356 Registry is pretty amazing for an information resource. IMHO, they are the best of any Porsche model with the 914 World guys right behind.

I acquired my tub back in '05 and got quite a deal on it - almost sheer luck, really.

If someone offered me $100K for it right now - I wouldn't sell. It's not worth that either, if you go strictly by the market vs. condition. Has it's share of imperfections but OTOH is a very solid dependable driver.

Interesting cars.....these tubs....

Hey Daniel....in case it's of interest.....up above in post #2 there are a couple links which will take you to some pics.....

======

Speaking of pics.....when I bought mine on eBay there was only one pic posted on the auction site.

One.

I still pushed the BIN button......

Here's the pic (didn't know about the sunroof until I bought the thing!):

Well, I should have bought yours 10 years ago!

I've wanted a 356 for years - since my 20's - but I never got off my a55 and did the legwork to get one. I realized they weren't getting any cheaper, so... I sold my 1956 Karmann Ghia and my 1952 split-window bug to free up some cash. I paid $64k, which I think is actually a decent deal for what I got. Does the car have issues? Sure. But I've already worked through most of the easy ones. Some "problems" - like not having the original engine - just aren't easily solvable.

I spotted it then, but it was sort of parked away from the other guys, if I remember right.

Nice car!

I'm partial to 'A' coupes in ivory.

Shes a beaut.
Love me sum 356.
Some, like myself, prefer to have a few cars that aren't numbers matching.
This way you can personalize without losing too much sleep.

I really like the "naked" bumper look, without the bows and overriders

Nice going

I didn't know that you proceeded w that car but I can say that it's probably the best car I've ever seen in that place. Those cars are blue chip investments.
