When I left CA 14 years ago the traffic in SO CA was a daunting proposition. It would take hours to get home during rush hour. I had to plan ahead to get in and out of most every where in SO Cal. CA has turned into an ant hill. The greater LA area is wall to wall people. Moses even says, "It not so bad if you go at certain times of the day and week." Not so bad sure sounds like a rationalization to me. Then you go to the inmates running the asylum. Moses says he doesn't pay attention to politics sic the nonsense. Submission by acquiescence. You deserve what you get.. It has become a worse tax and spend regime over the years with a decidedly anti business attitude. Sure you have prop 13 which keeps property taxes level and manageable. But the city governments get around that with fees for everything and then there are those civic improvement bonds that are added on to the property tax bill. The people are so gullible in CA they actually vote those bonds in. Then we come to social policy...most FFL Dealers wont even ship to Calif. California in it's infinite wisdom keeps on piling up restrictions upon restrictions. That continues to make it more difficult to conduct business etc. It really is a shame...cause Calif is a wonderful place to live, 50 years ago. |

California is beautiful, expensive and extremely liberal.
I've been there several times, a few times for several weeks. It's a great place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there unless I had cubic $$$ |

That man was also the author of the port huron statement, a domestic terrorist manifesto that would make the una-bomber look sane and moderate. Not to mention he was once married to a north Vietnamese sympathizer traitor WHORE. in his book that socialist bragged about he and our current governor worked to get over 100 open or closet socialists elected to office in Kalifornia over the past 4 decades. It has been a long and well-thought out strategy that is destroying this great state from within. |

Below Bakersfield it's closer to 52/48. In OC the majority is conservative. |
Then again, in fairness to California... this was a random thing that could have only happened here.
I was on a spirited drive in my 997 along the PCH on a most beautiful day and had parked on the side of the road to have some lunch and admire the views... ...when all of a sudden this guy shows up. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1493831298.jpg |

When I moved to California back in 73 there were orange groves and strawberry fields all over the place in OC.
That's what I miss. Now they're all gone. |

Edd wasn't there that day. Mike bought the Lincoln from GT Autolounge in Rancho Cordova (which is on the other side of Sacramento). I never saw this episode, but I think they wanted it to look like Mike was driving away from where he bought it.
The only comment I'll make regarding Edd - just like many of these types of shows, as soon as large amounts of money, contracts, benefits, legal components are involved, the entitlement only ruins it. (I don't know for sure, just guessing). I'm sure Edd will do just fine in his next Chapter. |

Sammy. There were lots of places where you could look out over orchards and vineyards. The year after Disneyland opened, I remember there was a huge parking lot, and from there all you could see were orchards.

East Stroudsburg, PA is where I'm probably headed.

The real California starts north of the Tehachapis, what us Californians call the "Ridge Route". |

All you Boyz have is the weather and the geography. Which is a given, and nothing can take that away. But it is the quality of life in CA that gets dragged down with all the other problems. Those problems are mounting, and as the CA government gets more desperate for money to fund the social welfare state the financial burden is going to be increasingly heavy. With Jerry "Moonbeam"Brown there is NO COMMON SENSE..I remember his Dad Pat and his first terms as governor of the state.
I have been there and done that so I do know what the fk I am talking about. 77 California cities on ‘economically challenged’ list | The Sacramento Bee |
