1981 Bevel Ducati 900SD Darmah

Quite the project.
.
"I've been a professional mechanic for nearly 40 years, co-owned and managed a Ducati shop called Eurosport in the 1980s and have rebuilt many bikes, starting with my first, a Ducati Diana racer that I bought in a box in 1973. These days, I specialize in rebuilding bevel and early belt Ducatis for customers on the West coast.

Fully rebuilt from the main bearings out: crank sludge traps cleaned and pressure lubed, all new bearings, seals, gaskets, new Vee-two three-dog gearbox, cylinders bored for new Wiseco pistons, heads completely rebuilt with new bearings and reshimmed, new stainless steel engine case bolts and chassis hardware, repainted frame, powder coated wheels, new steering head bearings, fully service swingarm pivot block assembly, new tires, brake pads, new S/S brake lines, reblt calipers w/ new pistons, sprockets, chain, cables, new steering damper -- the lot.”

Cool machine. Years ago I met a now long-time motorcycle buddy. I was riding my then new Ducati M900, and he had an 860GT which he rescued from a barn (covered in chicken $hit). That old bevel made the most awesome noises I've ever heard from a motorcycle. Same guy now has one of every Laverda from the 1974 catalog.

Very nice job on fixing that Darmah up, and good luck with the auction.

Thanks much Don. Very nice and close to me. I will watch the auction.

Back in the early '80's. did a little local roadracing on a Szook GS1000 in the Open, Modified class. The guy I always pitted next to me rode:

I've always kept my eye open for one.
