I have some work to do (motorbike related)

My Europe map has lots of holes in it. On September 10, I'm retrieving my Africa Twin from storage in Milan and heading east. I'm planning on stashing the bike somewhere in Ukraine for another trip next spring. The purple line shows a general idea of my route. I stay off motorways and putt along at 45mph for 8-10 hours a day.

Anyone want to join? There are lots of rentals available these days throughout main Europe and Eastern Europe. You could also buy a bike in Ireland or UK and meet up with me in Milan. I travel cheap... camping every other night and 2-3 star hotels on alternating nights. Should be a fun adventure ![]()

Motion - as you pass through Hungary go North of Budapest before going to Romania. The north is more mountainous the south of Hungary is flatter plains.

From the west to the east try this kind of route.... Gyor (where there is a huge Audi factory manufacturing engines and Audi TTs) to Esztergom (the danube "bend" and huge basilica) to Hatvan to Gyongyos to Matrahaza (highest point in Hungary) to Eger (great wine) then keep going east |

Hey Richard/Motion did you ever feel like your life was in danger in your travels(other than by vehicle accident)? For example did you feel you were targeted coz you are American....

I've been targeted for extra fees at airports when they see my passport. In my experience, most everyone in the world that I've run across is fascinated by America. Even when visiting Russia at low points in USA-Russia relations, they loved to talk and discuss anything with me. Extremist countries excepted, most people have figured out that their state attempts to control them with propaganda, and their officials have agendas that are not necessarily in-line with that of the average person. We can thank the internet for this.

Damn. That is to close to my home and too tempting. I'd love to go with you part of the way with my BMW R100 but just can't make it work...
