Road rage, another case for a dash cam

It was a nice day here in so cal and had the afternoon off. Decided to take the 86 and go for a nice drive in the mountains.
On my way up the 2 fwy a fellow in what looks to be an Acura SUV decides to cut me off. Like too close for comfort within a couple feet. Ok, maybe he just didn't see me. So I switch lanes and go about my way. Well, as I'm exiting the off ramp the same car cuts me off deliberately and almost hits me! At this point I recognize it's the same Acura SUV that had cut me off. I'm thinking WTF and what is wrong with this guy. He proceeds to get out of his car and is charging toward me and the entire time I'm like this guy is crazy what did I do? He gestures to me to get out of his car and it's fight or flight. I am not gonna fall for his bait so I look in my rear view mirror and see there is no one behind me or any traffic headed my way. So I just reverse and go around this crazy fool! And he runs to my car and slaps my fender like a little girl. At that point i almost pulled over but said to myself that this guy is clearly crazy and maybe he just got out of jail. Anyway I went about my mountain drive and went over what the hell happened to provoke that fellow. Maybe he just didn't like being passed. Maybe he just doesn't like Porsches. Maybe he is just plain crazy.
Well I'm going to get a dash cam and put one in the 911. That way if anything like this happens again I can just submit it to the chp or police.
Do any of you run a dash cam in your cars? If you can recommend a good one I'd greatly appreciate it.

Thanks

I have this one, people say the cheap ones fail often, I have had mine a year now in the Florida heat and no problem.

Crazy story, I had one where a guy tried to over cut me around a ramp. 2 left turn lanes, the left one is for u-turns and going into a neighborhood, the right is for going to the Turnpike.

I was 1st car in the right, he was in the left in a lifted 4x4 truck, I was in my E30. Light turned green I zoomed off pretty spirited (because E30) and it messed up the 4X4 from being able to get the jump on me around the turn and get in front.

I had no idea he was trying to jump me, 90% of the time people in that lane are going into the neighborhood, it is painted on the road that is what that lane is for.

I guess he thought I was boxing him out, he almost hit me cutting behind me then drove with his middle finger in his windshield while tailgating me. Well, not for long, I downshifted and hit it through the posted 25 MPH winding curves that form the on ramp, I never saw him again.

There are people on the road that are mental cases, I have toyed with front and rear cameras on all my cars.

My incident never would be caught on camera because it all happened behind me.

I have a black vue. Front and rear cameras cost around $275. Works great almost GoPro quality. I bought an extra set of mounts and wires so I switch from DD to Porsche. Takes around 5 min.to switch them. Good security and it's fun to check out your ride.
