7 cars in 30+ years, wow. You must choose wisely. Ive had, economy, fun , drag and dog cars. Yes, Ive had 3 different cars just because my dogs liked to ride. Worth every penny.

It wasn't so much about choosing wisely as it was about having to keep stuff running when I was young and broke. I just got in the habit of treating things well and trying to stay up on maintenance.

I've owned 5 cars since I got my first one at 18 in 1993, and I've still got four of them, including that first one. I'm kind of a keeper when it comes to things at like, which can be a problem when you also like lots of different cars.

30 total since 1973, most of those fun, non essential cars. The total even includes my children's cars (2). My son's car is a 2000 Taco I bought new.

I average 10 years on my DD, which is always a truck, and 9 to ten years on our "family" car.

Since 1977, 16 vehicles, only 7 of which were new. There were/are 7 pickups, 2 minivans, and 1 convertible. England, Japan, Germany, and the USA have been represented. 3 hot hatches have been part of this mix. 4 of 16 are still in our garage, although only 2 are on the road!

I still own two of them. The 1985 Carrera and the newer car, 1986 El Camino. The 1974 914 2.0 that I ordered and bought new.

I don't count the cars my wife drives as they are "her" cars even though my name is on the title. She has had 5 cars in the 25 years we have been married.
