As seen this morning at the local car show. :)

Never cared for the look of the Superbird/Daytona. Even worse in modern iteration.

HardDrive 06-24-2017 09:26 PM

These are muscle cars. It is the land of Matchbox vs Hotwheels. So what the hell. Go big or go home. I don't like the nose, but the wing....I like it because it turns it up to 11.

svandamme 06-24-2017 10:59 PM

Both the old and the new look retarded

Por_sha911 06-25-2017 01:37 PM

I didn't like the Superbird when it came out but, as with many things, I now enjoy nostalgia and remembering back in the day when...
The rear wing is meh but livable but the stripe below it is weird. The stripe should flow into the wing. The front? http://forums.pelicanparts.com/suppo...ys/a_pukey.gif
I guess if you are wanting to build a tribute car you need to do both but it looks goofy to me. My two cents opinion but no extra charge today only.

A few more, same car

The front looks weird, the center pointy bit in the front sticks out too far and they really should have tried to put some pop up headlights on it.

If not pop up headlights, some Lexan covers would clean up the look. The paint is a couple shades off, and the contours on the nose don't seem to line up with anything on the hood.

I see the guys at Laser have found a new calling.

Cue the car snobs in three... two... Too late.

sc_rufctr 06-26-2017 07:38 AM

I like it... In the same vein. 2017 Trans AM SE Bandit.

The Challenger is too short/stubby looking for that kit to work well.

I really like the old ones as they are different than everything else on the road from that time. The grey one is pretty well done for a retro-look current gen Charger.

I spoke to the builder this AM and it does have headlight flaps (you can see them on the pic where the nose is still gelcoat orange) he said they had just left them in the open position for some reason. See nothing is as bad as all that. There's a good side to everything. That's what I always look for. Most times it works well, for me at least. Glass half full/half empty kind of thing.

He likes it; he's my friend; so I like it too. And I do.

Is it made of Balsa wood...

RKDinOKC 06-26-2017 09:37 AM

As long as the owner likes it, that is really all that matters.

I like those Coyotes.

Yep. Totally agree. It does not mean we can't make fun of a car done with BAD taste. No matter how well it was done.

onewhippedpuppy 06-26-2017 12:50 PM

I'm all for a good hotrod, but that looks really poorly executed. The overall package is wrong, like leaving the stock trunk spoiler, factory wheels, factory ride height, no other upgrades. It's basically a mediocre Challenger with a tacked on nose and spoiler. I also have to wonder if that rear wing manages to produce any downforce, because there's nothing to balance it up front. And based on the shape of the headlight cutouts, I hope the new owner doesn't plan to drive it at night.....

Looks like a fun project to me. My friends are all pretty stodgy.
