It's a kit.

Love those shopping cart handle spoilers. But they really should take that stock trunk lid spoiler off.
|
Bleeeh. Ruined it. Just because you can - doesn't mean you should.......

I agree, but for some reason he took it off, narrowed it and reinstalled it. ?? I think he wanted to avoid filing the holes. Dunno. |
If the retro Challenger was of the same era as the ones that came with the Superbird package, it "might" work, but not on that later style. I saw one at Mecan a few years ago, looked like dung then, looks like dung now...

We're doing one of the old ones too!
|
Holy hell that is ugly - the new one.
|
Needs some stripes and STP stickers.
|
The original, objectively was ugly.
But it won races, and that made it beautiful. The rear wing does have a bit of "kid" appeal to me though. |
...and also rhymes with 'kit'.
|
That car and that kit are two ways God is telling you that you have too much money.
Of course, I did this to my car and then undid it. I [B]had [B] too much money at one time. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1498330786.jpg Whatever floats your boat. |
The original was based on a RoadRunner platform, not the smaller 'Cuda or Challenger. BTW - the spoiler was functional, had a purpose on the race car but the real reason it was so high is to allow the trunk lid to open fully on the street version.......
|
You guys understand, I hope, that the cars pictured here by me are not MY cars. Just stuff I observe around my friend's shop. I'd rather not take the blame for this.
We're good? One more from the shop. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1498339732.jpg |
Is that a legit Daytona or a clone.
|
That new version is just plain embarrassing. The rear wing looks like it does nothing it is so narrow and horizontal.
But hey, if it floats your boat!? G |

This ^^^ There was also a Daytona Charger version, but both were B bodies. The Challenger (E body) is just the wrong body to use as a platform. |
That wing is not good looking. The front beak? No, it's pretty ugly, too...
But then there's this guy. A fabricator who built an old Charger using a new Charger: "Our story opens with an innocuous phone call to Philly-based freelance photographer, John Machaqueiro. An artist in his own right, Machaqueiro wanted to tell us about a prime candidate for a feature. When the usually well-composed Machaqueiro launched into an excited, semi-lucid rant about some guy on Facebook down in North Carolina who was cross-pollinating a late-model SRT8 with a 1968 Dodge Charger body to make a clone of a ’69 Dodge Daytona, it seemed too crazy to be real."
