				Sick day or not?

Got a splinter at work yesterday morning in my right hand, the Studio Nurse fished it out and then gave me a tetanus shot since I hadn't had one in a decade or more. All free. Last night and today my right arm where I got the shot has been throbbing and swollen, nothing serious, but a common reaction to the shot. So I'm taking the day off, I told the Boss I should be considered "Working from Home" today. Seems fair to me, the injury happened at work, the shot was administered per the direction of the company nurse, I think I'd shouldn't have to take a sick day.

What a baby. Just kidding. Good compromise- take it easy and get stuff done from home.

Get paid for unused vacation days, up to four weeks when I retire (hopefully next Spring), 10 sick days are "use them or lose them". This year may well be the first time I use all 10 sick days do to some minor health issues.

If you've recovered enough by Friday I'm going to be at Code Black in the A.M. and maybe grab lunch? If your hand isn't swollen to the size of a Mickey Mouse glove of course.

Might as well have. Heck these days I think people call in sick for a runny nose.

Don't get paid sick days. I get silent revenge by showing up all mewly, slobbering like a calf don't care. Maybe one day they'll change policy.

Thanks but on Friday AM I'm getting a dental implant for a molar, I saw the tap they use and I swear it looks like a 1/4" x 20 thread. Around after the 4th however, let me know.

Personal sick day? Sure, why not. That's what they are for. Work-related injury and subsequent treatment that results in lost time? HUGE DEAL. But you're prolly the last person I would have to remind of OSHA form 300 column H On the other hand, not properly reporting a work-related injury can result in serious disciplinary action against the employee and fines against the company .............
