Like my plan for landing on the Sun, I will go at night for the most part.
This is "Rup" at a Toga Party, circa 1979 ish... http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1499533031.jpg |
Given how clean everything was when we did your last valve adjust... Yeah, that 3.6 doesn't consume much at all. I would say take manbridge up on his offer. Hell, give him a few bucks and see if he can steam clean that grease out of the engine bay from when that axle let loose...

I make an annual trip to Washington, which is around 14 hours. I usually stop at 12 ish hours, sleep for around 4hrs and get moving. I like to rent the Dodge Charger, mostly because it cruises well at 90-ish, and I'll burn probably 3-4 tanks of gas each way.
I would have to advise bringing sunblock. Buy this one, and some baby wipes or the like. Ultra Sheer® Dry-Touch Sunscreen Lotion SPF 100 | Neutrogena® Bring water. Wear a hat, bring ear plugs. You'll thank me. |
Sounds like a fun adventure J B.
I just drove my non AC motorhome back to Az from the central coast about a week ago. I departed in the late afternoon, drove till midnight. Had a nap and drove on thru the wee hours. The coming of the day started around 4am and grew more beautiful as the soft morning light started to light up the mountain tops in the distance. Then the increasing light showed off the details of the surrounding mountains in more details than I'd ever seen as I approached Kingman. I stopped there for a stretch and a quick breakfast, and to think about the best coming of the day I'd had since keeping night watch at sea. Happy trails, Richard |

So Joe Bob,
If it rains, you're getting wet, or do you remove the bikes, raise the top and wait it out? |
I'm jealous, sounds like fun!

Last long road trip I took in my 911E was a cross country trip bringing my car back from San Diego to Charleston....
I have a license plate mount bike carrier I bought years ago. Works with any or no tail config. Carried my two bikes everywhere. Don't have a pic, but it's like the one in this thread. https://rennlist.com/forums/964-forum/441006-964-suv-who-needs-a-cayenne.html MattR |

I hope you are getting some rest today J B.
It has cooled down this way a little since the clouds and a few showers arrived yesterday. The pattern here in central Az right now is building clouds in the afternoon and evening, helping to bring down the temps. Funny how much we come to want all the comforts as we age a bit. Traveling rough can bring so much more adventures at times. Have a fun trip! Cheers Richard |

119 thru Baker.....the pedal cluster decided to disintegrate. The gas pedal would stick at the sweet spot and i had to drive barefooted, using my toes to pull the pedal back up. I called Glenn at PP and one the PP guys rebuilds and sells them.
It''s STILL driveable but I don't have full throttle and needs to be fixed. Usually the clutch or brake bushings go first. But I guess I use the go pedal more... THEN, the fuses in my new panel started to blow, wipers, air blower and turn signals. Some of the fuses were lower than optimal rating and not as listed on the panel cover. Anyways made in 20 hours driving straight, nap time and now out to dinner with the gimpy gal. I will post pics of the awesome sunsets and rises, later tonight. Actually saw the Colorado River IN Colorado for the first time....all in all, no cops, no tickets and no one died. I did lose one of my cheapo internet combat boots. |
Sorry in advance, cain't hep myseff.
Ya might have to trade it in on something a little more ... economical: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1499729228.jpg |
