Collin Kaepernick

What do you make of his situation, how it's playing out and his future?

He has some baggage but someone will pick him up. His best days are behind him.

He's a POS. Funny how his activism coincided with his becoming a benchwarmer. I would be surprised to see anyone take a gamble on him at this point, there's a lot of baggage and not much talent.

I don't think he was ever all that. They should have kept Alex Smith. I think he is a large part of why the NFL TV ratings were down last year. He is his own worst enemy. He thinks he is still a starter, and for the teams he would want to play for, he isn't.

Maybe he will go play baseball.

His Muslim wife has steered him into what he's done. Just another dumb-ass black athlete who doesn't know his ass from a Texaco station....

Kaepernick has learned that exercising his right to free speech has consequences.

Is he better than X number of starting QB's currently in the league? His numbers say that he is, his actions have prevented him from getting the opportunity to prove he is.

He is simply not worth the headache right now.

That said, circumstance (injuries to a starter) may get him back in uniform.

I've lost a lot of respect for the NFL over the years. This situation didn't help.

Another reason why college sports is so much better than pro sports.....IMHO, of course.

In our society, we are all entitled to our opinions and to voice them freely, Personally a big proponent of free speech, now matter how hateful or disgusting it may be. Support Marxist's and KKK's right to assemble and show their stupidity.
That said, Colin, like Kathy Griffin, has learned that one's words and actions can have consequences that may affect the ability to earn a living. Hope it was worth it to him. Suspect that he is done. Maybe not, Dennis Rodman survived stupidity.

Kaepernick thought he was a leader with a large following. No one is his rear view mirror now. I quit going to Pro Football years ago. Expensive tickets, food, beer parking. Drive 100 miles each way. Stuck in traffic.

For me, a state university is 20 miles away. I buy a ticket online the day before when I know the weather will be good. Park free a block away and get ticket at will call. Sit outdoors looking at a view of the fall colors and surrounding mountains. Much more pleasant experience.

Agree with two sages above.
The last two years I've leaned toward college ball...
So much more enjoyable and there's not the self-importance as we see in the NFL players.
Also, Clemson won...I like that.

I suspect that Kaepernick is damaged goods because of his statements. Like the actor, celebrities, and "comedians"; he has a right to express his opinion.
If their opinion is insulting me or degrades the country I love then I have a right to not financially support what ever they are doing.

Our founding fathers paid a heavy price to establish and protect this country. Over the last two hundred years many lives were lost to keep it safe. I believe they would say to the above opinionated people "suck it up and be willing to pay the price for what you believe in".

Send this suggestion to "Uncle Phil" Knight c/o the University of Oregon Ducks. He's been spending heavily for years, chasing that goal.

The protesting QB? Made his bed. Finds it difficult to sleep lately.

He has been blackballed And I have lost respect for the NFL and some of their owners I guess it's ok to beat up women, significant others, kids and test positive for banned substances, just don't speak your mind

I have no idea, nor do you, if he has been blackballed.

Owners make risk management decisions with player behavior(s) every day. They and the league have some of the most sophisticated marketing and polling people in the world.

I have no issue with Kap...but if my business success relied on public image, team dynamics and absence of distractions I am not hiring Kap. However if Kap's production was better, and the risk reward penciled out, he'd have a job.

That is the real world.

I hope he gets picked up by someone and plays well enough to soundly beat several teams that have passed on him. I've not studied the guy or his history but other than his taking a knee during the national anthem (I don't get it but was not offended), I'm not aware of him being problematic for teammates. I don't recall seeing him routinely showboat either.

I do recall seeing reports of him being humble which is reason enough to root for practically anyone in pro sports.

Lots of beer drinking Red Necks AKA as the NFL fan base didn't like Kippy and turned off the NFL. The League musta looked at the numbers and felt the pinch, so off with Kippy to never never in the NFL land.

If he can play and show value he will be on a roster.

The bottom line is he did more harm to his cause than good, IMHO.

That's ignorance pure and simple.

A person in his position and capacity had so many options available to him to provide support to his cause(s). So what does he do? Not stand during the anthem.

Pfft.....gets an "F" in marketing....
