Booze. making me fat!

damn it!!

i dont drink that much. beer every couple of nights. i moved into the same damn town as Russian River Brewery..and i have an office across the street from Lagunitas. Ground Zero for delicious beer. Wine? pfffftt.. i am in Sonoma Wine country. i fixed a culvert for Korbel, and they offered me a case..that i declined.

i had that interview the other day right? my brand new suit was..how can i say it? snugger. i think it's the beer!!

what's a new suit run these days :D??

bleucamaro 07-13-2017 10:46 AM

Suits are overrated. I think you can get 6 suits for $40 at Joseph A Bank.

Contemplate that while enjoying a growler of Pliny the Younger.

BTW, awesome humble-brag :D

I quit beer totally for sixty days early this year. Nuttin' Not a smidgen of weight fell off. That's quitting wimp beer though. 100 calories each. A decent buzz is the same as two McDoubles in calories. Under 1,000.

I put a dual tap in my new kitchen and promptly gained 8 lbs. Trying to lose it with a strict diet of bourbon and light beer. Ugh, the suffering.....

ckelly78z 07-13-2017 11:07 AM

I only drink a few beers a week and stay fairly slim (5'10" 185#) because I am so active and hardly sit down. I'm sure this will change when I retire.

BTW, you should never refuse a case of Korbel, i'm sure the wife, or friends would love it.

It's pure sugar, dude. Alcohol converts to sugar in the body.

javadog 07-13-2017 11:11 AM

Anytime you get offered a case of wine and don't want it, you just let me know. I'll swap you a case of carpenter's pencils, or some marking paint, or new laces for your boots.

I've been exercising nearly everyday for two years, and I suspect this is a major factor in not craving alcohol.

I have maybe one drink a month, vodka on the rocks, twist of lime or lemon.

During football season it goes up to 2-3 drinks a month (Guinness).

Since I've taken focus off of building muscle mass I've lost another 10 lbs and another inch off my waist. Muscle is still there, in fact they pop out more without the surrounding fact.

Booze = Sugar

My enemy in the summer months is ice cream, I have that down to a monthly treat but it is tough.

I have finally given it all up, maybe for good. A recent promotion at work (work stress) combined with some bad feelings I was still internalizing over my failed marriage, found me in a daily drinking routine that was very out of character. I feel so much better. Lighter. Clear. My old self. I dropped ten pounds in less than two weeks by doing nothing else but removing the alcohol.

With your ever expanding waistline have you thought about ditching the suit and just start wearing a kaftan? :D

Enjoyed a Grapefruit beer last weekend at a BBQ event...was very good, but very sweet.
After a couple of swigs, I could taste the sugar on my lips.
Drank only one because of my diabetes. Not drinking alcohol any more these days.
That and not eating prior to bed time, and no goodies with morning coffee...lost 12 lbs. in two months so far.

Total Cal. 136
Total Carbs 23 g
Sugars 10 g

^^^Just bought a six-pack of that, but with watermelon, last night! Planning on tapping into them after mowing tomorrow.

I have Summer Shandy on draft. Similar nutritional content unfortunately.....

I did the same thing about a year ago. Quit drinking all together for over 2 months and I saw NO drop in my weight. What a waste of effort!

Try switching to a good sipping Tequila.
Not a margarita, loaded with Cointreau ( sugar), but a nice sipping Tequila.
A Tequila martini (no vermouth) is pretty good, also.

Tequila Ingredient Could Help With Weight Loss, Diabetes. The key ingredient in tequila could help fight type 2 diabetes and obesity, according to a wonderful new study. The miracle substance is agavins, a natural form of sugar found in the agave plant.

You first need to star in a porno before being allowed to rock the Kaftan!
