help - my laptop won't connect to wifis with a password

Not sure what happened, but a couple days ago, it stopped connecting to any wifi with a pw. But it connects fine to public wifis.

Anytime I put in a security, it tells me it's either wrong (it's right) or it can't connect.

Any clues to point me in the right direction?

My phone connects to all of said networks just fine.

Don't know what to tell you other than in my experience over the last year or so Win 10 has some baffling WIFI connectivity issues that seem to defy logic and are immune to standard trouble shooting / fixes.

Sorry that's not much help.

Bump

not big on this but

try logging into your router 192.168.1.1
and check the security protocol it is using and then see if your computer is set up for the same.
just a guess, I am not a computer guy but I have had issues connecting, well my wife does and I think she has 10 also. I hate it because I don't know how to get around in it.
I know XP better and how to find things.

if that does not work try uninstalling the network stuff on the comp and reinstall it

(tangent sorry)

Got this a few days ago. Fixed by right-click 'my computer' online.
Now the computer is freezing up.
But of course the two together could be coincidence.

MS is not earning the human capital known as TRUST.

Lots of people have had problems. here's the MS link, but googling Win10 wifi problems will get you 2M hits as well
