Awesome contrail video

The pilot that shot this video is an active member on FerrariChat and posts a lot on YouTube.
I thought this was spectacular.

Wow, just beautiful. It still amazes me that man has created these planes that allow us to fly around in the atmosphere at 600 mph.

I used to live in downtown San Diego, and the jets coming in to land were right outside my window. I was a student, and would sit in my chair for 10 hours straight. I would see planes coming in to land, and maybe 10 minutes later would hear the air swirling behind the jet, following it's path.

Small world! As a kid my mom used to take me to a little hill in Balboa Park directly underneath the flight path. We'd hear the same swirling air after a jet went by - I'd forgotten about that.

Yeah, I love that park. They had a guy playing a huge outdoor pipe organ, an SR-71 on display, and a velodrome where you could just ride your bike into, and go around it.

I lived in OB for a few years when going to San Diego State College. It was before the flight restrictions that are in place now. The flights would take off right over our roofs, and you would have to stop talking while the noise made the place quake. We never noticed any swirling effects. If we had, it would have been a further irritation.

I grew up on a couple of different Air Force Bases. At Maxwell AFB in Montgomery, AL. we had a grade school that I attended. We all knew to just pause talking when the jets flew over.

We would ride our bikes out to the end of the runway in the area where they did not really want us. we could hide in the debris and be just feet from the start of the runway. It was cool to be there as a C-130 or C-5a came in to land.
