I got pulled over once on Long Island by one of the local cops in Oyster Bay when I was driving my 72 Super Beetle around 1992.

He was a beetle fanatic and wanted to check it out.

We have since been friends and I helped him out with his Dad's 52 Spit Window Bug restoration

Funny how the OP here states he was talking to his wife on the phone and might have crossed the line but he was not aware of it, the cop seemed to act very professional, gave him a warning and sent him on his way. Yet some of the replies accuse the cop of being a liar and are all set to convict him and have him fired. Maybe he was just doing his job but I guess that thought never crossed your minds.

Today some jerk drove up hard on my rear end(the one which excretes) and was 'twitchy tweaker' all during the red light.
He was looking to gun it whether or not I was in front of him or not.
A new arrival to this city most likely. Seen a lot of those lately.
He had a mount for his tan cell phone clearly visible on the dash.

If there was a mishap I could subpoena his phone records or data. Maybe.
Unless it was a plant or 2nd phone or he had an over-write recording app.

Anyways...
There is probably a free or cheap video app to record video on your cell which is also probably automatically uploaded to the NSA and 32 internet websites, read the fine print, and your entire driving habits and daily profile sold to multiple advertising firms.
But it might only require buying the phone mount.
and the other stuff you don't worry about.

Maybe I was driving within the lines! It's not that hard. Can't you talk and drive at the same time? And it was hands free.

How did he see me "cross over the white lines" across three lanes, on flat ground, heavy traffic and a 500-750' away?

The car passing me on the left had to brake hard and got behind me. He had to be nervous.

That would be suspicious on 85 as well, because you'd be going 65 mph faster than everyone else. SmileWavy
