Baby Driver

Saw this last night with herroberst. Loved it. Especially if you like music.

Though it made me think: how come every car in the movies can burn rubber?. In my whole life I've only owned one car that could do a burnout. Everything everyone drives in this movie will roast the tires.

They filmed part of that movie in Atlanta. They were prepping for a scene across from the AT&T building downtown one afternoon near lunchtime and caught a glimpse of John Hamm and Jamie Foxx in the "taxi" sitting on a low clearance trailer being pulled by a flatbed truck with about 8 film crew members sitting on the bed with cameras etc.

I saw previews for this the other day. It looked interesting.

Then you weren't trying hard enough, or you need better cars (or crappier tires) or some sort of lubricant, like water. I've been able to spin the tires in cars with as little as 78hp. I did have a car once with 52hp where I was only able to spin the tires if I was in wet grass or sand.

OK, I just saw this earlier today. It was very entertaining. It was very different from most movies out there. There was a lot of Ken Block-esque type driving which was entertaining.

The way the movie was shot/put together was interesting and different. Music was also a major component of the movie, almost so much that it was like another character. It was enjoyable to watch and not as dark as a lot of movies out there these days.

It's like the tires squealing on a wet street. In my experience spinning tires on wet pavement produces a whirring sound, not a screech.

Good sir, may I point you in the direction of a vette?

True a corvette will roast the tires. However in capable hands, a chevette will do a burnout, get you laid, and leave enough coin apres to buy beer.

Ps, if you can't find a chevette, i found a dodge omni works in a pinch, just sayin....

Wife & I saw it last weekend. I pretty much agree with masraum's comments. Not an outstanding movie but interesting and different.

Was meaning to start a thread on this movie. Saw it last week, and also found it very entertaining!

The dialogue delivery was very reminiscent of a 1970s spaghetti western

Saw it tonight. Fun stuff... a lot to like.

One thing I would've done to improve it, though... especially in that opening chase; have Baby belt up snugly like he meant business.

Just not believable that someone slinging that Subie around like that wouldn't want to be welded to the seat.

Wife and I saw it about 2 weeks ago, horrible acting and nothing like the previews make it seem. About 30 minutes in we were thinking about leaving but didn't( should have, movie didn't get better). waste of money, but had a great time with the wife regardless.

I particularly like when they dub the squealing sound in on a car doing a burnout in the dirt.
