I know, compared to Cali fires and Florida floods

It's really nothing, but we are having the worst start to winter I have ever seen. It's -15C, there's mountains of snow, our harbours and rivers are frozen, winds have been howling for weeks. It's still only November, but up here in the eastern seaboard it feels like January or February.

Where are you on the Eastern Seaboard? So far so good a few cold days and some rain.

This is the coldest, snowiest November we've had in a long long time.
1* above yesterday ....6 below zero this morning.

Solar mechanics are probably to blame.

But I don't judge "cold" by snow since they are independent.

I'm not sure who to blame, but...

snow = cold!

I would chance any form of severe weather to avoid the winter. I’m becoming soft in my old age. Today will be 70 and sunny, tomorrow 30 and snow. Ugh....

We went from many 90+ days through September, and an average of 80-85 degrees through the middle of October to rain and 50s for a few weeks, and now 30s, snow, and 20+ MPH winds with frozen ground all in one month....Bah Humbug !

This winter weather is killing me. Layers, they are important. Only need the first layer though. Had to put on some sun protection to hang the Christmas lights. Darn near 85 here.

In all fairness to the rest of Maritime Canada, PEI and Northern Nova Scotia did indeed get pasted by the storm on Wednesday last week and the temps stayed below freezing for three days with a substantial wind chill. However here in the balmy western end of Nova Scotia, we lost most of the small amount of snow we got and I didn't even have to fire up the tractor and blow out the accumulation. Yesterday one of the local farmers was harvesting cattle corn.
Sorry you got hammered (again) by the weather, Dennis. Maybe it's time to move to a better climate (like western NS) and avoid the masses of tourists which almost cause the Island to sink under the weight each summer?

Best

Well, it's true NS is a fine place for sure. But who would look after the tourists? Keep them out of trouble and moving along?

It's simple really. Charge them to get on the Island and let them off for free.
