I would have to say this 20 gauge single shot shotgun my father gave me for my 12th birthday, still gets the job done. Took her to the range last week for her 40th anniversary

It depends on what you mean by give up.

Are we talking just financially being able to have one, or some other type of scenario?

1942 Remington built 1903A3
rearsenalled in 1944, with a 2 groove war barrel, and packed in cosmoline, that's how i got it.
Nothing done to it , just shoot it.. great trigger, and great barrel.

I've shot this rifle with irons, at 900 & 1000 yards and shot 5 V 4 V V with it..
Just 1907 sling, no vest, no glove and there was quite a lot of wind.

That's as good as it gets really when shooting old battle rifles

I was given this Marlin 39 Carbine (made for only four years in the 60's - fairly rare) by my Grandfather when I was 12.

I have carried the 39 Carbine all over the place for the last 48 years. Still shoots perfectly. My baby.

For no emotional attachment, jack of all trades, probably my AR 15.

I also have a bring back pistol from my wife's great uncle, a Browning Hi-Power with the Nazi stamps

Seahawk - That Model 39 is nice! I have a Marlin 39M that my father gave me that is very similar (black trigger instead of the gold but with the same "mounty" lever loop).
