Looks like the '66 Ford F250 that I had. Mine had a 390, 4 spd in it. I painted it dark green, and used it as a wood hauler for a few years until I got a 78 F250

I like the low/patina look on that truck...a good conversion is the older high output 302 5.0L Mustang motor/trans, with a Crown Vic front end suspension.

That was considered a full sized pickup truck back in the day.

Every time I see one from that era I say to myself; That's cool man.

Our family had a then ten year old 1968, 390 three on a tree, it was solid fun.

Does look cool for the life of me I don't understand modern wheels on old trucks. Does no one make 16 and 17 versions of basic steel wheels? This truck would look so much better (subjective, I know) with some white 15" steel wheels and high sidewalls.

I have to agree, and what is the deal with lowering a truck so you can't enter a steep driveway? I presume it has airbags and can adjust the height.

Now get off my lawn!!!

I'm having some 16s made for my '47 Dodge. They'll look stock, but I'm putting modern radials on them and I need to move up to 16" wheels to keep the 31" rolling radius.
I like that truck and I like the paint. The lowering and the wheels - meh.

It'll be a while. It rolls just fine on the 15s with truck tires, but they're 6 ply nylon casings and they handle like a hog on a wet clay bank. I'm getting the radials so I can take longer trips and not have to be on constant high alert on crowned roads.

In the Rat Rod world early Chevy trucks rule the market. But in the last year or so the 60's Fords have come into there own if done right, value wise.

My question is , what are you sitting in taking that photo. A larger old truck ? Would love to see a photo of that .
Agree, hate the wheels, love the truck .

A set of old Torque Thrusts instead of what is on it now and we wouldn't be discussing the wheels on that truck.
Do like the truck though.

+1. Them roads up there in Canada are slick as snot?
The Model A was more capable.
That is a nice truck for occasional long hauling on country roads..but it wouldn't last more than a week in most speedbump/pothole/parallelparking/inner-city country.

Vintage Wheelworks makes 16" versions that I used in the past. I do like 1961,2&3 F100's Ford made a version with the bed seamlessly mounted to the cab. Slicker than elephant snot.

A few years back we did have a thread going on pick ups

I have a set or real American Racing Torque thrusts in 16x9 on the back of my '66 Mustang. I can't decide if I'm going to keep them or not.
