5.11 gear....

This stuff is just too funny. If the hipsters give a chit I bet they look at me and see a fat ~40 yr old with lame clothes.

Hipsters, no matter the genesis all have one thing in common. They are phonies. Scratch the surface and there is no "there", there.

Please, I have to look at them everyday on the streets of Williamsburg Brooklyn, the friggin epicenter of hipsterism.

They're cool and you're not. Oh, let's not forget entitled as well.

No biggie just another fashion trend... it will pass in a few years.

And yes, just like city people who dress like cowboys, people who wear military ger who have never served, bikers who dress like hells angels who are dentist and accountants, rich kids that dress like gang bangers.

Meh... so much in this world to be pissed off about... how someone chooses to dress is pretty low on my list.

yMMV

Knowing what farm your meat comes from is no different than wanting to know where your veggies are grown. It matters to a growing number of consumers. I don't buy farmed fish. I don't knowingly buy meat from large factory farms. After reading The Omnivore's Dilemma there's no way I'll buy meat from a giant factory.

Regardless, hipsters are fun to make fun of:

Q: Why did the hipster burn his tongue on pizza?
A: Because he ate it before it was cool.

cstreit 09-12-2017 02:39 PM

Meh. I think the derogatory term of "hipster" refers to people that dress the part (of something, lumberjack, bare knuckles boxer, etc..) but don't have the skills to back up the image.

If you dress like a lumberjack but have to call Triple-A when you get a flat tire? Hipster.

If you wax your mustache and sell the best cut of steak in town? Stylish butcher.

I can't stand shorts that length. The tickle the backs of my legs and drive me crazy. You can't buy shorts that are 2" shorter, so I have mine altered. You'd see me out in the garden in a tee shirt, a pair of those (only shorter), and 9" work boots anytime in the summer.

berettafan 09-13-2017 10:07 AM

wd so glad I'm not the only one!

for me it's my damn short legs. golf shorts make me look like a yo boy. hate it.

berettafan 09-13-2017 10:07 AM
